    Congrats, I just hope you have better luck out of your GC then a couple of folks I know that owned em. Nice vehicles inside, but man were they problem after problem.

    i've heard nothing but good things from lots of people, they have occasional problems but that I6 will rack up the miles with proper maintenance

    The motors weren't the problem, it was tranny problems. I want to say there's were both V8's though, both were the Limited.

    I had a 87 Cherokee with400 k miles on it stock engine and tranny threw a 8" lift on it and it still ran until my buddy who bought it decided to change it out

    XJ's have always been the more reliable of the two. The ZJ has it's own problems. Also have different trannies unless the GC has the 5 speed. The autos in the XJ isn't the same as the ZJ. Those XJ's are bad ass, plain and simple. I'd love to build a bad ass XJ. :peace:
