got some major progress done today. Got my 60 gal compressor fixed. Motor burned up on it about 2 years ago, and since I had another in TN, I never bothered fixing this one, and I could never find a decent deal on a motor till now. I've been using a 15 gal craftsman to fill tires and stuff but all my air tools have been sitting idle because I couldn't use them. Motor is a Marathon Electric 6hp. I can't believe you can buy a motor that size for $229, made in USA. Gotta love some tractor supply company.
also, what finally prompted the compressor repair was the acquisition of a new project, which needs some paint and body work. I'll get some pics tomorrow, but here's a teaser.
1996 Mustang GT, Cobra clone. 4.6 SOHC 5 speed. It got wrecked sometime in the past and whoever fixed it dumped a whole lot of money into it, as they used all OEM cobra parts (hood and bumper covers, grill insert, wing etc.) 18" cobra wheels with new tires. May get a DOHC 4.6 from a JY and start building it slowly and drop it in at my leisure to make a real cobra clone, or I might just leave it. Gonna change the fender and clean up the body and paint it. Currently it's kinda purple, and the fenders don't match the body, so I'm gonna scuff it up really well and prime and paint. Probably going to go with a dark blue.
You should go with a jet black. Its hard to beat a chrome and black mustang. But then again blue would look sick too.
