its an r code valance, the big opening is so that there is no restriction to the radiator and the spoiler is just molded into it. Honestly ive only gotten it up fast enough a couple times that the spoiler would theoretically be helping but ive never driven without it so i cant tell.faster ive gotten it to was 115. it does however help push air up through the opening and help cool. i can run it all out and constantly be ripping on it and have yet to get it over 195 degrees, so i know it helps with cooling. but its also just the classic old school racer look. if you ever go back an look at early mustang racing history you will understand, also its all fiberglass so it lightens the front end up a little bit.the two little holes to the side of the opedning are ducts that go to the front brakes.
