On a cold start just sitting the AC isn't cold until i get the truck up to speed. Was wondering if it just needs to be recharged or if it's something else like the motor. My friends dudge ram had the same problem and it ended up being the fan motor, once we swapped it out it was cold always. I figured if it was low on freon then it wouldn't get cold at all.
My dads 05 f-150 had a similar problem, he was about to charge it but checked the pressure and it ended up being about twice what it should be so he bled some out until the pressure was where it should be and it worked fine. Your problem may be completly different but its a possibility.
Welcome to owning a 10th or 11th gen Ford. Mine came with a novel hanging from the rearview mirror acknowledging that their AC system sucks and how to get semi cold air the fastest.
Mine does exactly the same thing so I thought it needed charging. I bought a guage and checked it and it was perfectly where it was supposed to be. Im still not sure what the problem is...
I read in some of the A/C tech forums they take the orfice tube part # from a van and put in the trucks and it will "freeze the balls off of a polar bear."
