Took the RAB in for the CEL, hoping it was related to having changed the oil pressure switch. Well, its showing i have a bad EGR, and my mechanic (whos worked on the truck since the p.o. had it) said i may aswell replace my manifolds since my EGR tube on the driver side is broke. Obviously long tubes are the better option for the effort, anyone done this? Or know whats a good brand for a 4.6? I'll also be going full exhaust afterwards; I'm thinking true dual bullets, or maybe some borla stingers lol. I'd love to get my hands on some Banks Monster mufflers, but that wont happen.
I have OBX SS long tubes with resonatoers in place of front 2 cats, then goes to an x-pipe, e-cutouts, dual borla XR-1 race mufflers then dumped.
i think im going with the pacesetters. i've read theres alot of fitment problems with the 4.6 4x4's, and the pacesetters fit the best for them. im still looking, but im pretty set on those.
Pacesetters are good. Are they ss? I dont know what will fit a 4.6 or a 4x4 but for me it was real easy with no extra junk in the way, ive got tons of room between the frame rails after the tranny, plus with my slim exhaust (which i may get some glassbacks from magnaflow for even slimmer profile) i have even more room! And boom goes the dynamite.
SHORTYS you dont want long tubes with the 4x4 it will make for some very strange exhaust routeing and it makes the starter a PITA to get out
Jarret, i doubt they are stainless. Evan, i just done a starter so idc too much bout that haha. I hope to not have the truck for the next starter. I searched it on a few of the other forums, and long tubes seem to be where its at for the hassle im going through regardless. One guy is running shorties, im gonna talk to him and see what he thinks.
on a jeep the drivers side goes foward and around the front of the engine to the pass. side then goes into a Y-pipe and out. you could do that hahaha or go foward and up, thru a turbo and out thru the hood with zoomies did I mention to do that for both sides. twin turbos/ twin intakes/ stacked innercoolers/ powerful efans then dump it behind the front tires
Long tubes will give you some more power, shorties are basically cool looking manifolds, bascially no power gain. But they are an easier bolt-on
im probably doing lt's since im not doing the install. So its not my headache lol. Does anyone know if they make a bolt up exhaust you can buy that bolts right up with headers?
