Well, I've achieved the look I wanted to go with on this truck. So now I can focus on the performance side of things. I want all the ideas you guys got. I want to get all the power I can out of my 4.2. I have a flowmaster exhaust that doesn't add much but helps. And that's it. So any ideas you guys got would help. I've come up with a little list, but anything is good. ( that is within reason. No turbos or super chargers. haha) Even if its just like sparkplug wires. If they add an extra horse or half a horse I'll take it. Give me some names. Plus I would like good brands that have good prices. lol Cold air intake. Gears. Programmer. Add anything you can think of.... If you guys know of any programmers at all, tell me. I haven't had any luck finding any. I've always wanted the edge, but they seem to not make it for my motor. Do you think they would make a custom tune for me??? Thanks.
I heard guys like superchips for the 4.2l. Gotts mod 4.56 for gears 5 star might be able to make a tune, otherwise your 4.2 is outta luck Get a magnaflow 18" muffler and run 2.5" tube to a 3" tip
My goodness gracious, I didn't realize how expensive headers were. Nice find on the tuner Northwoods. I will have to call them, because there chart shows they dont make them for the 4.2, but there options give it. And cowboy i cant get rid of the flowmasters. They sound to good. lol
Put a new engine in it get the 5.0L or even the old 5.4L or 4.6L any of those will up your power considerably without performance parts. But like stated there not a whole lot you can do for a 4.2L
