    This exact motor has been a rumor since 2010 along with Toyota coming out with one in 2010... And 2011...

    I'll bite my tongue should it happen but I just don't see it being profitable in anyway.

    sadly enough, i think you can blame FORD for no one ever having a 1/2T diesel. Ford just showed the truck world that you can successfully turbo boost a 6cyl and get the same power from a v8, but retain fuel economy of 6cyl. I think it would be far greater for companies to take existing 6cyl plants (every truck has a 6banger in the family) and convert them to a TT powerhouse rather than creating a totally new diesel engine. IMHO that is....

    The only reason I never see it happening is it would bite deep into all heavy duty truck sales.

    Overseas most companies have diesels running in their vehicles already so they aren't starting from scratch

    a while ago it was leaked that ford already has a small diesel developed for 1/2 trucks but they wont release till later because itll cause too much inhouse competition with the ecoboost...

    yeah but emissions is the big problem, not the motor itself.
