Don't listen to all these Nancy Naysayers. Harbor freight is good stuff! I have tons of stuff from them and nothing has broken. Impact gun used over 100 hrs. Grinder w/ almost 200hrs. And this welder & Autodark hood are the :boobs: Its great for small jobs, like tacking, or welding on thicker metal/pipe like this factory exhaust pipe. Its a great tool for small projects and well worth the $100 imho. it even says 2.5min of welding for every 10min of use, so its only for small jobs. which is all i have right now going on...

Now, if you are going to be getting into some heavy duty welding, like a full cage or bumper, then you'd have to step up to a 220v w/ gas option to get clean welds on both thin/thick surface.

But honestly, this HF is well worth the coin. :waytogo:

thats a good deal on the welder but something like that, once you know what you are doing, spending the money on a good one is a wise investment, i'm a pretty novice welder and with my HF welder, very similar to yours, with a bottle on it, i'll over heat it in 5 mins welding something like 1/8" angle, then it runs on duty cycle to cool down for about 10 mins before you can use it again, time for me to upgrade
