I've seen a lot of questions on how to do this, so I thought I would do a quick writeup on how to set up a photobucket.com account and post to the site. (There are a couple of other sites people use, but photobucket seems to be by far the most prevalent) First, go to www.photobucket.com (that is a link) You will see this screen: Circled in Red in the upper right corner is the sign up tab which allows you to create a new account. When you click that tab, you will see this: Enter the required information, and click sign up at the bottom of the page. After you have created an account, the next thing is to upload your photos. Click the upload tab that is always at the top of the page, and it will take you to this page: By clicking on the box circled in red, it opens a window allowing you to select your files. This window looks like this: Once your picture is uploaded, you can click on it, which brings you to this view: When you are in this view, click the window in the lower right that says "Direct Link" (circled in red): At this point, the URL for your image has been copied to your clipboard, so now go to the forum page you wish to post to. Click the reply to thread button, and it brings you to this page: Click the small picture icon on the right side in the tool bar, circled in red which will bring up this window: Paste the URL that you copied from photobucket into that window. When you do so and click ok, it will generate the image code that embeds your image on the page, like this: When you click submit reply, your image should display on the thread. If it does not, make sure you have deleted the http:// that automatically comes up when you click the image tab. (it is highlighted automatically, but sometimes it stays when you cut and paste) Also, if you edit your album within photobucket and move or delete pictures, they will disappear from any threads you have posted to, since that URL pulls the picture from the original address. If you move or delete the picture, it changes that address, and the thread cannot find it. If I've forgotten anything, let me know and I'll edit to include it.
btw the snipping tool in windows 7 is a vast improvement over the old "print screen" routine for taking a screen shot.
Quote: When you are in this view, click the window in the lower right that says "Direct Link" (circled in red): When I see this screen there is a link below what is circled in red that says IMG Code. I just copy this IMG Code into the thread's message area with out jumping thru the other hoops.
^x2. then you can just post the link without having to click on the insert picture button then copy and paste
Hmm, I did not know that. Never looked at what the other ones did. (since this is on the first page, I'll just let your comment do the talking and not reedit, at least not now)
