Ima do a swap on mine. I found a wrecked truck that was rolled. My body will swap right over to its frame. I know it would be easier to trade for a 4x4 but I can't afford the payment. I will be able to sell all the parts I don't need after the swap to help cover the cost of the project.
Im looking to take the more "difficult"/"do it myself" route. But itd still be nice for any info you have on this subject to be posted up.
I would like to do SAS but being 17 full time college student working 25-30 hours a week its just not going to happen. I know I could do it this way and accomplish what I want. I have looked at dealer after dealer for a 99-03 4x4 thats amazon green like mine, and I have only found 1 and they pretty much wanted your first born for it... The truck I am looking at getting only has 129k on it. I plan to tear it done and "freshin" up the frame and axles try to make it look almost new and paint the finderwells also. They only thing I aint excited about it wiring it back in and its a 4.6L but I can replace it with a 5.4L down the road.
Well heres the update guys. Tell Me if yall think ive got fairly good deals on this shat. 4wd trans with 84k vs my 210k... With tcase shipped to my house 800$. Dana 44 front and dana 60 rear. Both have 4:11 gear. And they 8 lug. Both full axels with brakes. 625$ Know a guy locally who makes drive shafts. Havent gotten ahold of him yet. And me and a buddy will do 99.9% of all the fabing and stuff. Watcha guys opinions on that? Go ahead n shoot me down. Im prepared!

Well I hate to bring up my old dream thread.... But I'm gunna do it..... I know you all hate when I get on these crazy idea trains... But I'm back on it.. I'm still going to do my sas when I get my money straight. But my next great idea is to just go ahead and drop a 351w in her when I get her tore apart. So here's my questions. What other potential problems does the 351 cause? Will it fit okay? What Trans best option? And I need lika a graph on how much money needs to be spent on it to get x amount of HP n tq.
