w well today I got all new mounting bolts for the spring towers and all the brackets ordered. just didn't like what came with the rear brackets, the front bracket had none, neither did the towers. Have any idea how hard it is to come by 7/16x1 grade 8 flange nuts and grade 8 serrated flange washers? I finally got them located locally... but can't get them until Tuesday. bolts are in one town.. nuts in another. lol had my u-bolts made by the axle shop..so next weekend things should be good to go. Finally got the flange nuts and bolts today. Must not be the most commonly used that's for sure... suckers were hard to find. got them from a major bolt distributor locally. Anyway, my wife got me a nice air chisel for my birthday. I have one but this new Ingersoll Rand should rip through those factory rivets without much problem. I think I am all set to get started this weekend. I do have a question for anyone who has done this... when is the proper time to torque everything down? I have read after you put the wheels back on the ground. Does it really matter? And since I am doing all four corners, would it make any difference if I do the front or rear first? Do you have to have both sides of the truck jacked up off the ground or can you do one side at a time. I'll have to check my Haynes book and see what they say. Off the top of my head you want to torque them down when there is no stress on the bolt and the piece your fastening down.

no doubt! They were worse than I thought. amazingly the frame isn't bad. Has a lot of surface rust, but measures 3/16 which is what they are supposed to be I believe... it did have undercoating for many years which may have helped.
