So my truck has been running hotter than normal all winter. I replaced the thermostat with a 180 about a week ago. That seemed to fix it till today. I warmed the truck up to about 150 this morning before driving. I had the heat and defrost on full blast it was 5 degrees outside too. Going about 25 because of ice, My edge alert went off at 240 for my cylinder heads. I watch as I saw my coolent temp rise to about 240, and then it slowly started dropping, I did change the defroster to off and change the fan power to 2 instead of 4, It was bouncing around from 200 - 210 on my coolent temp even at highway speeds. I'm at a lost of what to do, it really starting to piss me off.
My truck dosnt get over 185 on my edge. I have it showing temp of the C.H's and never go over 185. Sounds like its overheating! J.Wal
Dang nick sounds like pump or bad stat. I gotta change my stat too. In cold weather it never gets over 140 degrees. Yours is hot blooded and mine is cold blooded. sent from area 51
I was reading it could be a possible air pocket. Anybody got any knowledge to this or how to burp the system to remove the air pockets? Before I start replacing more parts?

I think I may try that first. Then I'll probably pull out the thermostat and run it without and see what happens.
^^ This and I always squeeze my upper radiator hose with the cap off while it's coming up to temp. Good luck, hopefully it's a quick fix.
