Hey guys, I'm new here and have a question someone more experienced then myself may be able to answer.
I'm replacing the entire thermostat housing on my 2000 4.0L SOHC EXPLORER and can not find the seal that mates it to the cylinder head. The only ones I have found come with a new lower housing and we are attempting to replace it with one we pulled at a junk yard. If someone has a link to somewhere I can purchase just the seal or the part # for an alternative seal that would be great! Ty in advance

Hard to say unfortunately.. We ended up finding an o-ring that fit almost perfectly.. We added a little grey permatex.. Seems to be holding so far. I will post the part number tomorrow. Maybe it will held someone else later

such a pain to change the T-stat on these 4.0's
unless your expo is different than my ranger.

not that it was hard, just time consuming to get everything outta the way.
    hope it works for ya!

i was lucky and my housing was good still. heard lots of them fail. fingers crossed mine doesnt.
