lol the rest of the cab floor is solid. these holes were the doing of the stupid heat-shields for the exhaust. they held in a ton of moisture.

danny told me about a trick to get a good ground when welding on something flat.

got one part finished. nice and smooth. just have to flapper it. i want to por-15 the whole floor but thats going to be a ***** and a half. especially with all this odd swirly **** they put on the floor. danny said it might be sound proofing. all i know is it made a huge mess like filler when i grinded through it and it smells like filler.

took my time and slowed the feed speed on the welder. tried to do small circular motions as i moved. burned through a tiny bit but was able to fill it in with no trouble. looked under the truck and i cant see any daylight through the welds!

When filling holes and gaps I use a back and forth motion. Start the puddle, go forward then wash it backwards then forwards again if that makes since. I find that when I use a circular motion for gaps it overheated and blows through.

i figured that out as i went along. i was able to close the gaps in much easier back and forth and in a circular motion.

yessir. i just hope it doesnt end up rusting back out.
