I have got a set of FX4 wheels I am about to put on my truck...havent bought them yet but they are on hold until next friday when I can get out there. Im paying only 250 for them...but my wife asked me this afternoon why I wasnt going to put aftermarket wheels on that were black like I have been looking at. So my question is...if i was to get a wheel that is 8" wide with an offset of -12....how much will the wheel sit outside of the wheel well? Pics would help me visually see it. Thanks! Or if you have an opinion on whether I should even get aftermarket wheels or not and just stick with the FX4 wheels which i really love the look of...please give me your opinions.
Well, aftermarket wheels are always a great way to spiffy up the look of your ride. That said, I've seen people make terrible choices with their aftermarket wheels and honestly ruin the overall look of their vehicle too. So it indeed takes a little research and knowledge to make the correct choice. Maybe this will help. http://tires.about.com/od/understanding_wheels/a/Wheel-Anatomy-301-Offset-And-Backspacing.htm In the end, if you really like the look of the FX4 wheels that much, you can save yourself a lot of money at $250 versus $900 - $1700 for a decent set of aftermarket wheels by just buying those FX4's. If money isn't an issue, I'd go with the aftermarket wheels all day long over the factory ones. Sent from my iPhone 5 using Tapatalk
My wheels are 8 inches wide with 0 offset on 35's and here's where I'm at so imagine them sticking out 12mm more haha, I also have a suspension lift so the front stick out a tiny bit more:
Jason, you wont get much poke at all. I have 17x9's, -12mm offset and they are pretty much flush with my OEm fender flares.
