As in set your engine on fire.... Find a wrecked cobra or even a Mach 1 with a 4v and throw it in

Oh... haha my bad! Misread it then got even more confused! I'm in finals week with school so I haven't been able to do as much research lately, but do you guys think it would be easier/cheaper to do a 5.4 (Ford or Lincoln) or the cobra 4.6? It seems that I have been able to find better availability with the Mark VIII, but I'm still kinda stuck on the 4.6.

This might be a rather dumb question, but lets just say hypothetically I went with the 99-04 navigator 5.4 4V and wanted to supercharge it, would I be able to use any 5.4 supercharger on the 4V heads? Or do I need to find a supercharger that specifically uses 4V heads?

    Need one to fit the 4v heads. You can't put a lightning supercharger on a 04-08 f150 3v 5.4...

Any 4.6 or 5.4 block will accept 4V, 3V or 2V heads. Also any 4.6 or 5.4 supercharger can be fitted onto any of the above applications, all that needs to be done is buy or make a baseplate to adapt the blower to the intake manifold. With this being said, there are a few clearance issues with certain vehicles. Also there are three block types that I'm aware of, Windsor, Romeo, and Teksid. Each of the different block types have key differences that may make certain head/intake swaps difficult. The best thing to do is use the specified kit or factory setup for your block and heads.

And if I were to do a build, I'd start with a Teksid aluminum block. They can be found in 93+ Lincoln Mark VIII's and 96-98 Cobras. Block is rated at 1000+ horsepower where stock Windsor and Romeo's reach a breaking point around 5-600 depending on power adder.

I've honestly never heard of the Teksid block. But I am not looking to push 700+ hp with my daily driver, I'm guessing a 5.4 with a blower would push in the 300-400 hp range correct? But Screamin.03HD, how hard do you think it would be for me to fab up one of these adapter plates for the intake manifold/blower? I have a welder on hand and am half-decent, but not a pro with welding yet.

To custom fab an adapter could take hours and hours of work and you would need to mill it out of one piece of aluminum, not feasible for the gain. But a 5.4 with a blower can easily push 750+ HP. BUT an Eaton will only get you about 370-450, Whipple or Kenne Bell will yield much more power. Complete Lightning or Harley take off kits range from $1000-1800 used. Lots more involved than a blower.

I figured that I'd be looking at 1000+ for a used kit, I was just curious about fitting the blower on the manifold, I'll definitely be trying to match up the supercharger with correct number of valves. For starters I'll probably stick with the eaton and maybe someday move up to the whipple or kenne bell set up. Any suggestions on pistons and rods? And thank you very much for the info everybody! This is helping me a ton, I am doing google searches on the side so don't think I'm one of those guys who only posts on forums for simple questions lol
