Are all wheels from 97-03 interchangeable, meaning will wheels from a 99 fit a 97 and conversely will wheels from an 03 fit a 99.

I thought this was all truth but then some guy I was talking to said that the lug size is different....not the pattern the lug size...is there any truth to this or is this all just a bunch of crap.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Yes....but there are 2 different thread sizes on the lug studs. Has no effect on swapping the wheels. 4.6l trucks and 5.4l trucks have different stud threads and stud lenghths.

So the guy talking about the lugs was on crack? Or I was on crack for thinking that wheels from an 03 will fit a 97?

Ok just so I am 100% clear on this

4.6L has like a 12mm thread size and the 5.4 has like a 14mm thread size, but as we established that will not affect swapping wheels.

Point being I can sell my 99 chrome lariat type wheels to a guy with a 97 and in turn can buy a set of FX4 rims from a guy with a 02 and put them on my 99......is the statement I have written here correct?

I am sure I am not the first to say this but why the heck would Ford waste so much money on tooling and material to make different stud sizes for the same size truck? I am sure there is a rational explanation for this but I cannot come up with one.

Yes 4.6L trucks have 12mmx1.75 and 5.4L have 14mmx2.0 studs /lugs. Yes you can swap the wheels.
