Hey guys I just bought a 04 Expedition XLT and of course the cladding was faded and made the SUV look bad to me. I read several post trying to find the best solution to this besides buying new ones and couldn't find anything that worked. I finally got frustrated with trying to get the color back and painting that just scratched off to easy and started experimenting with different things and I found something that worked for me. My cladding was in very bad condition and I have before, during and after pics. I used brake fluid and poured a little on a scotch brite pad and scrubbed the cladding til the white oxidation was gone. I removed the cladding from the expedition because "BRAKE FLUID WILL DAMAGE PAINT". Once I got the oxidation off I rinsed the panel with water, dried it off and then applied CAR WORX restoration refinish. I'm not sure how long this will hold up but I assume a while since the oxidation is removed and the restorer is like a sealer. This is a time consuming process, and Im not responsible if anyone tries this and causes any damage.
Nice. I used the rustoleum bedliner in a can on my aunts. Just taped it off real well and sprayed about two cans sent from my igloo
I thought about Bedliner too, but I was really looking for a way to bring back the original color. Hope it last

if you are careful you can also sweat it out with a heat gun. done it on several jeeps when the fenders fade. but the pics look great with what you have already done
I tried the heat gun and I couldn't get a uniform coverage, it would always have streaks in it. Maybe it was just me, or the color or the wide flat surface but I didn't have any Luck but thanks
Does anyone know how long this product will last? I'm planning to use it on my faded exterior pieces.
