So since I've had my new truck I haven't trusted the gas gauge. When i first filled it up from 1/4 tank i put in 17 gallons, that means my last 1/4 tank was 10 gallons?!

The low fuel light came on today so i put about a gallon of fuel in before my trip to work. Well I've got 340 miles on my tank and its sitting on E and my fuel light is on. I feel like that is not very good mileage, only about 13 mpg which is less than ideal.

How long can i go with the fuel light on?
How many miles do you guys get on a full tank?

sounds like you have a bad float. i would drop the tank and swap that out or just know that when the light comes on, you have about 50mi like Big'un said.

can you give a quick rundown of your truck? tire size? rim? gearing? lift? those will help determine if you are getting super poor mileage or not.

Tires are 265/70-17, 3.73 LS gears, No lift yet but i have a level kit that will be going in shortly.
I put in about 24 gallons today and had 350 miles on the tank so that comes out to 14.5 which isnt ideal, i was hoping for better but i guess thats still not terrible.

that does seem a little low. I think I was pushing 400+ on a 28gal tank in my truck. i'd get a tuner and see if that helps out.

If you can keep your foot off the pedal. My foot got heavier with my tuner.

Yeah, that's why I'm not so sure I should get one. I really will need one eventually as I would like the thought of being able to diagnose/scan the onboard computer for diagnostic trouble codes. I'm thinking of the Edge CTS.

Getting back to fuel mileage, I'm not sure what it would mean for you guys since you use miles and gallons but I get around 620km to the tank if I were to run it until it's at the absolute empty mark. My fuel tank is 110L. That is with an empty bed and moderate throttle, mainly highway driving. Only upgrade is a Borla cat-back exhaust. Everything else stock with original powertrain.
