Only option from rockauto is one where I have to send my old one off to be rebuilt and wait for them to send it back. Summit has a lot of options, how can I pick the right one? Can't seem to really figure out their site
It shudders and slips from time to time. With 195k and towing sleds in semi-remote areas in freezing temps all winter I want one I can trust.
I was hoping to pick one up for under $400. There seems to be quite a few in that price range. I know the local auto parts store even has some for less than that but i figure i can get a better one for the money online. i got another lead on a guy that builds them for $450 too. he has a great reputation on Lrodder. he makes them in 2400-2600 stall speeds.
These look nice. I can even afford the first one. I like how it seems to be built for the f150s, even if it is the 5.4 instead of the 4.6
oh you got a 4.6 i didnt even look, that changes everything then. the torque converters are different for the 5.4 and 4.6's the 4.6 has a higher multiplication of torque than the ones with the 5.4
Damn. On another note. My transmission slipped really bad this morning. I pulled out onto the highway and it slipped for a good 5 seconds. I was still gaining speed, but not like I should have been. After 5 seconds it grabbed (it was smooth, not a hard grab and clunk). Accelerated up, truck went into 2nd, slipped for 5 seconds again. Grabbed, then into third, where it slipped for another 5 seconds before grabbing. Might just need an entire new transmission now instead of later. Unless this also a torque converter issue, though I sort of doubt it Sent from my SCH-R760 using Tapatalk 2
