.030 is most common on small block fords.. .020 is most common on modulars..

Pretty much can't find .020 pistons for 302/351W

If you're wanting those mahle pistons get the .020 over and then a good machist should hone the bores to the pistons and file the rings to fit. just get it bored its worth the extra coin, I doubt a v10 had perfect walls, maybe visually no gouging or anything but if he mic'd it out it'd be out of taper

Not sure where you were looking but I've done several 302s with a .020 piston, one build had some speed pro flat tops, the other was just a standard rebuild an used some cast .020 stock style pistons. Block has to be I'm good shape for .020 but it is still common for people to do, alot of people do .030 as well, more .030 but .020 isn't out of practice. Epw an big companies for standard non performance rebuilds use alot of .020 stuff but typically the more performance stuff you'll find .030 and up. All depends on the condition of the block. But just to clarify I'm saying standard would be the smallest overbore that you could do, no one does .010 stuff. .020 and up just depends on condition of block

Honestly, stay 2v, half cost on cams and springs, and your not planning on building a world beater.. 2v will be fine..

Also already have your 2v stuff paid for etc...

Now is your chance to get a 4v if you wanted one. If it were me I'd go 4v. That's the whole point of this build, your stock engine is doing just fine but you're building up a mild one to throw in there. 4v would be a fun engine to do and can take to mods better, also cobra guys constantly are swapping parts so used cams an such are readily available. IMO go 4v, it'd be a much funner an unique build, yes it might cost a little more but it's pretty sweet and the potential down the road is leaps an bounds over a 2v

Also idk if you've talked to the guy yet about the motor but if he is asking $500 you can always negotiate.

Agree with these guys. But research the swap to ensure its worth it aswell.

Ahhh I want it so bad lol I might just go pick it up today. I agree with what Danny said about my current engine being fine and just wanting a side project. This would be really unique swap I'm just not % 100 sure I want to deal with all the wiring and stuff. It comes with wiring harness and everything but how would I make it work with my PCM?
