2000 F-150 4.6,Lately been hearing noise from fan moter,noise increases as speed turned up .Sounds to me like fan fixen to fall off,air & heat works as it should.Any ideas and if fan needs replacement what kind of job are we talking about?Thanks,Paul
Could be something throwing it off balance or the "squirrel cage" has spun slightly off the motor shaft. Remove motor to inspect. Found instructions for 2002 Blower Motor should be similar to a 2000 F150. Removal and Installation All Vehicles 1. Remove the RH lower instrument panel insulator. 2. If equipped, remove the dealer installed air filter and brackets. 3. Remove the passenger side scuff plate. 4. Remove the passenger side kick panel. 1 Position aside the weatherstrip. 2 Remove the passenger side kick panel. 5. Disconnect and detach the electrical connector. 6. Position back the carpet. EATC Vehicles 7. Disconnect the aspirator tube and remove the screw. 8. Remove the aspirator tube extension. 1 Remove the screws. 2 Remove the aspirator tube extension. All Vehicles 9. Disconnect the electrical connector. 10. Remove the screws and remove the blower motor. 11. Remove the wheel from the blower motor. 1 Remove the clip. 2 Remove the blower wheel. 12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2004 F150 Removal and Installation 1 Remove the RH lower A-pillar trim panel. 2 Position aside the carpet below the blower motor. 3 Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector. 4 Remove the 3 blower motor screws. 5 Remove the blower motor. Remove the blower motor wheel. 1 Remove the blower motor wheel clip. 2 Remove the blower motor wheel. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
