    Silver one is a flywheel, brown one is a flex plate. Flex plates are used in autos and flywheels are used in manuals. Take some up close pics of the crank and the journals and counterweights

    You can usually visually tell if a crank is forged or cast. You can also tap em with like an open end wrench, forged will sound different but it's hard to tell unless you have one to compare with for the sound test

    Pulled the crank and flexplate today. No pics but I hope yall know what a bare block looks like with a pile of engine parts next to it :jester:

    Time to start saving for machine work and pistons!! I should be ok with stock rods right? (Towards danny)

    Stock rods are a no go. Go with manley forged h beam or I beam. Those are the weak point on all these 5.4s

    I'm not going forced induction though just a stock rebuild.

    You'll be fine then, but just incase build with parts that'll last. :3
