Ground your hand really good and
stick your tongue to the hot wire.

 

Or you can use an indicator light. Ground the alligatoe clip on one side then touch the pen to the wire and see if it lights up!!!

 

The tongue to hot wire is cheaper and faster
than buying an indicator light or meter and the flesh
wound it leaves reminds oneself it is working.

 

yes.....volt meter. you can test amperage, voltage, resistance and many other things with such a handy little device

 

Pshh come on man you're an M.E and say volt meter, multimeter is what you mean

but yea dylan check for 12v with a multimeter using the volt function, if you dont have 12v there chances are its a fuse or relay. To test the relay use a drill battery or something that you can use some jumpers to go across from the I wanna say 85&86 terminals and you'll hear a click, if you cant hear a click use the multimeter set on Ohms and check resistance. ( it might not be 85&86 but its the 2 copper ones usually, regardless it is a combo of two prongs diagonally)

If you have a 12v there then its the lights thatre the issue.

 

Actually... I also use a volt meter for testing batteries,

Then I use a fluke for real accurate readings
