Yeah I shouldn't have said that lol It's an inexpensive option that's designed to be used more so as just a video camera I think I believe the hero2 takes 11mp pictures while the hero3 white is only 5mp, I believe te hero2 has more features for burst, time lapse etc which is where the hero3 silver compares to the hero2 The built-in-mic on the hero3 white is pretty bad from the reviews/comparisons I've seen The hero3 white does video in 1080-30, 720-60 as well as two other option I think, most don't need any better(pretty damn good) The hero3 black has 12mp I believe and can shoot 1260-30 or something Hero3 white has a better lense and is smaller with built in wifi Can you use the gopro wii to control yours? I tried to use it with my buddies hero3 (don't know what color he has) and it only gave me a remote option and mine was dead
I still need to take my go pro out, when my buddy with a lifted pathfinder gets his 37s on we will be making a killer video of it! heres when he got his new 35s Andrew and his Pathfinder - YouTube

Ok.. Instead of getting the iPod nano I won in the Giveaway I asked Griffin to send me a gift card instead since I already have a 32gb ipod touch.. Im gonna use the gift card and put some money with it to finally buy a Gopro lol.. But question is should I get the Hero 3 white or the Hero 2??? From what I read the Hero 2 is pretty much the same as the Hero 3 Silver minus the Wifi?? I could live with out the Wifi but would I be losing anything else?
Id get a 2 over a white, I'm pretty sure the 2 actually has better picture quality and the same video settings as the 2
IMO you may want to just get the 3. spend a little extra. get online and find the lowest price possible. then take that to best buy, and buy what you want. and get the 3 yr warranty. you will spend more but, heres why I think its a good idea. I bought a hero 2 with the automotive package from best buy for $250 plus 80 bucks for the 3 yr warranty. I used it a bunch, then one night I strapped it to the top of my RC truck to see what I could record on flat pavement, well I goofed and flipped the truck, sliding on its roof and scratched the lens so bad anything I recorded was trash. so I took it back to best buy the next day. good news: it was under warranty. bad news: they didnt have any hero 2s in stock to replace it, nor did their warehouse. So they upgraded me to a similar package in the hero 3. I gave them my camera and front of the housing (I had an external battery on it so I got to keep that) and got a silver hero 3 for 50 bucks to update the warranty. WIN! All is good till last week when the go pros battery wouldnt hold a charge. took it in and they ordered me a new battery that shipped to my apt in 2 days. for free! Im sure within the next 2.5 years ill do something stupid and need it to get replaced
I have a hero 2. Awesome picture quality. It does what I need it to do. I don't have any wifi or extra battery packs or anything like that. The hero 3 is a little smaller though. I'd go with the hero 3 for the hell of it just because its newer and cheaper haha
