First off, sorry I havent been around much, been trying to get through school and find a job haha. But my problem, my engine just started doing a loud whine/tick that almost sounds like a pulley bearing going out. its on the passenger side from somewhere around the belt tensioner. is there anything else that sounds like that or could it for sure be a pulley?

    thanks for your help

It's probably the belt tensioner, mine did that for about 2 weeks before it gave out and took the belt with it. Best to replace it now.

Test it by spraying wd-40 on the pullys with the engine running and see if that helps

you guys are geniuses. as soon as i got the belt off the pulley fell off the bolt and there was a groove worn on the inside of what used to be the bearing from the rim of the pulley wearing it down. i have one ordered and itll be here next week.

hopefully ill be back around more often, im taking a semester off school to work this spring and im not gonna have much to do haha.

Glad you got it fixed. I ignored it for two weeks until the pulley fell off (All the bearings had fallen out earlier) and it yanked the belt in two. With no belt I had a lot of warnings go off, Engine overheat (no fan/water pump) Battery Discharge (no alternator) and something else.

Luckily I had a spare belt and swapped it out in the parking lot that morning, did the pulley and a new belt that night.
