Not really sure what you mean by striker it.. The point of me building a dohc is to be bigger and better than a sohc
Reason the 5.4 isn't the best for a stroker is that it already has a very long stroke, vs a 4.6 which had a shorter stroke. The 4.6 is way better for a stroker then a 5.4
Ahh typo. Yeah im not wanting to stroke it. Just cams, intake, exhaust, tune. Should still be a lot quicker than my 2v.
Found this. Mustang guys are seeing about 20rwhp who from just simply swapping intake cams. If I was doing brand new cams though I'd be about $1000 in the hole and need new springs for a recommended 25-35hp. To me, after reading a lot on mustang forums, 96-98 cobra cams will be my best bet. Some guys said to advance them 8-9* but that will make more power in the higher band right? A stroker isn't a cam. A stroker engine is one where you lengthen the stroke of the pistons by using longer rods and a different crankshaft. Burn in doing a dual overhead cam setup in a 5.4 which already has a long enough stroke. Not doing a race engine just a mildly built one.
