I think the problem with either solution is then they would get no airflow. Which would probably be bad considering they have massive heatsinks and a fan.

Yea they were for the foglights. I had another ballast go bad a week ago. The headlights are still the 8000k hids. For now...

Leds to replace my hids. But unlike your typical automotive led bulb, these are bright enough to rival hids.

I did a bunch of research on LEDs last semester, most off road LEDs use 12V because thats what cars/trucks run, they can max out around 30V so your voltage system wont max out that much, running down the highway the most anything sees is 14-16V. However with them so closely packed in an air tight seal they tend to get quite toasty, hence why they have heatsinks on the back. Heat sinks come in all different shapes and sizes....Those VLED LEDs probably have a converter to bump up amps to make them brighter...and hotter, it would require a massive heatsink to keep them cooler...or have a smaller one and a fan.

same with computers, home audio systems...and you vehicle. :angels25:

Dang, why do you even need headlights anymore! :jester: Those fog lights are sweet.
