Thanks for the advice man! I have a welder and am working on getting a plasma cutter. I would love to go 4 link! The one I'm looking at already has coil spring buckets (which I want to do coil springs anyways for a smoother ride). This may be a dummy question but if I do coil springs then I have to do a 4 link? I'm still doing research and there aren't too many sas build threads for our gen F150s.

You won't need coils with leaf springs, just shocks. It'll look almost the same as your rear axle.

I am wanting to go with coils instead of leafs. The front axle I'm looking at has bottom coil spring buckets not leaf spring perches.

Little different subject, but have you ever thought about going with the lightning style seats. That would look great with your grey interior.

That link is perfect! Thank you! Think a dana 44 would be too small? Should I try and run a dana 60?

If I could find a nice set of lightning seats I would in a heart beat. They would need to be 60-40 with the fold up center console, girlfriend likes to sit in the middle and I won't argue! That's a good idea though, I never thought to even look into those...

What kind of off-roading do you do? If its just mild trails with a little mud then a 44 will be fine. If you're getting into tires bigger than 35s, deeep mud, or rock crawling, than a D-60 is in order.

Usually just mild trails and a little mud but I was thinking of going with 38s or bigger eventually. Think I could get away with 38s on a 44?

Not without putting a ton of money into the axle to handle the stress. A D60 would be a better choice.

I just stumbled across a guy with almost the exact same truck as me who did a sas! He put a dana 44 up front on leafs with 38" Michelin xmls which are the tires that I want to run. Pretty impressive build.

Would leafs be a little more sturdy than coils? I'm not too worried about ride quality, it's pretty stiff as it is with a 3" coil spacer, but I wanted to do the coil spring sas for more flex.
