This morning I got a loud creaking noise coming from the front left. I lifted the truck tested the front left wheel for ball joints and lower control arm and everything is tight. It only happens when I go over bumps or shake the truck up-and-down. Any ideas or any known problems with a 2001 expedition

Are you sure both sway bars links are connected. I had a nut break off mine a few weeks ago and once i crawled under i got it figured out. Just a thought. Could be beginning stages of ball joints going out

how do you have the truck jacked up?

expeditions have torsion bar suspension don't they? you will need to jack the truck up from the lower control arm to check the upper ball joints. jacking it up from the frame allowing the wheel to hang wont show play in the upper joint.

    just a though.

could also be a stabilizer bar link issue as iowa has stated, stabilizer bars make all kinds of noise when the links break.

Try pushing down on the front end when its parked. Let me know if it creaks then

When I had the tires changed the entire truck was off the ground no front wheels were touching and the ball joints were fine. Left to right the wielded shake top the bottom of the wilted shake I looked at them they look pretty good
