So after being back in the SCab (which is straight piped) I cant stand it. The RAB still has OEM exhaust (kinda a thread for both truck now >.>) so all i hear are the Toyos, which I can live with. Here's what I am wanting to know: What aftermarket muffler can I go with that will be nice and quiet, with minimal sound/drone? I wouldnt mind a little rumble, but what I have now with the straight pipes is too much. I plan on doing true duals from the shorties back on the RAB with high flows. SCab will possibly stay with the Y pipe into 2.5", might true dual that one aswell since the cats are really noisy aswell.
Didnt see a need to remake a thread, my red truck is ******* loud... Do the larger body mufflers make more noise? Or less? I'd assume less... I'm just doing a si/so for the truck. The straights on it have to go.
yes, the larger ones quiet the exhaust down. I currently have Borla XR-1 race mufflers, will be swapping to some 26" i think magnaflow glasspacks and pipe it to behind the rear tires, thatll make it still sound mean but lower the drone.
The Larger/Longer mufflers are quieter. Look at a 18" or so Magnaflow for good sound without being too loud. A 14" Maggie is racetruck loud.
I run two 14" magnaflows and its not like straight pipe loud or anything. Only ran a single 14" dumped before I got headers and it wasnt that loud either.
