What's not to make of it? Looks like a lowered curved windshield Super Beetle. They're not the most desirable Beetle to exist, but this one appears to be clean, $9900 clean? Me thinks not. Then again, there's probably someone out there that will pay close to that for it. I sold my non running, gutted interior, primed 57 Beetle ragtop for a just a few grand less. So VW's certainly can bring the bucks when the buyer is after what they know they want. And for the record, that interior he's so proud of is simply a kit you can buy. that's pretty cool. my buddy has a beetle, I want to say its around that same year. think he paid like $1000 for it, had a transmission issue or something. got it running for under $100, guess it was a simple fix. he stripped the whole exterior and painted the whole car, did some interior work so it didn't look too bad but its pretty sweet. loud as hell! hes got some insanely long exhaust pipe. its almost in the shape of an "L" comes up to almost my knees.
Sounds like he's running a stinger exhaust. Basically a straight pipe off a header. I use to run a stinger and a header, but mine was a stroker motor and it sounded like a Huey Hawk at idle. It would vibrate cars around it at red lights. Sent from my iPhone 5 using Tapatalk
I just love those straight pipe ones, a kid back in high school (2008) had that setup and was doing laps in the school parking lot for some odd reason. but it sounded nice when he reved it up
I liked it all except the wheels and exhaust, needs a little moar low and it would be p.s. I know I awakened him...sometimes you gotta poke the bear
Definitely MOAR low, but Supers are a biatch to get low. Standard Beetles are pretty easy to lay out on a static drop. There's a couple of companies making some airbag kits with narrowed front beams. That's what I wanted to do to mine, but didn't honestly have the time to build the car the way I wanted to. There's days it bothers me, and days where I feel I made the right choice. I'll always have a special place in my heart for Air Cooled V-Dubs. My entire teen years and early 20's were spent driving em and tooling on em. They're cool cars.
