This guy on f150online swapped a gt500 engine in his 97. Doing a lot more work than what im doing lol http://www.f150online.com/forums/1997-2003-f-150/495240-shelby-gt500-engine-97-f150.html
Ive been keeping an eye on that build thread...Having riden in my buddies '14 GT500, its balls to the wall crazy awesome...and in a truck, would dominate Lightnings.
Its a very cool build no doubt, but if it were me I'd just pull the lighting motor out of the lightning and stick the gt500 motor in it. Since it was more of a performance truck to begin with anyways. Then he could of just stuck the built lightning motor in the f150 and kept his 4x4.
Machine shop still hasnt touched my heads. He said itll be a couple weeks until he can get started on them. So in the meantime ive been tinkering with everything else. Cleaned my intake manifold up and got all new gaskets and such installed. Realized I didnt have upper to lower bolts so went up to TSC to get some more. Got it all bolted together. Almost running out of stuff to do until the heads are ready...
Heads are back. Should have them bolted on tomorrow. Finished my bumper today so I can quit driving without a license plate lol
Got one head on. Waiting on another dowel pin for the head from ford and then ill be able to slap thr other one on. I had 4 and lost one so I had to buy four more lol also got the rear main seal and cover on. Oil pan studs in. Just piecing her together now.
