Hey everyone! Glad to be here. Well before I post up about the truck I need to give a little back story and tell you about how I got to picking up my Bronco. On May 13th 2014 I put down money on a 2015 Mustang GT Limited Edition in Kona Blue. A month back I had a conversation with my wife about the winter. Though it's not to bad here in Virginia and growing up in Upstate NY RWD in the snow is no problem. Except...1. I'm more worried about other drivers slamming into the Mustang and 2. It comes with Summer tires that can't be driven in under 30 degree weather. The choice then came. Buy a new set of Rims with Blizzaks or buy a beater. Well cheap rims was not an option due to the stangs new 15" rotors so I was looking at $2k-$3k for Rims/Tires or $2k-$3k on a beater truck. Well two weeks ago my wife called and said "I have $2k go find us a Bronco" well I couldn't argue lol After digging through Craigslist. I found this gem. 1994 Bronco XLT 5.0 Auto 183k miles One owner She's a little rough and rusty in some spots but that 302 is flawless and the tranny isn't slipping. She was asking $2500 and I haggled down to $2000 and a tank of gas. Not to bad. It'll get me around when temps drop below 30 and it'll be a nice project for the summer. She had all the original documents including the original Window Sticker! My Mustang was born on 10/9 and should be delivered by 10/25. Here are some pics how she'll look. Sorry for the long winded post. Glad to be here once again and hopefully I can learn some things from this great community.
Can't blame ya, Kona Blue baby new I'd have to stand guard over it too. Nice find on the Bronco, just needs some TLC.
nice bronco and Mustang. im proud to say that I built your Mustang! (if it was built on B shift). I work at the Mustang plant here in Flat Rock Michigan.
That's a sweet looking stang! Good idea on having a beater for the winter too, especially one that allows you to look over the snow berms before blasting through them What tires are going on the Bronco?
Yeah my wife was asking about a rotisserie restore next year Thank you and that's awesome! 1FA6P8RF7F5500315 That's her she's probably sitting in the lot somewhere. I wish I could see her complete. If you can take a photo of it ill buy you a night of beers if I'm ever in Michigan lol. You guys are an amazing group. No other factory has a heart like the Flat Rock plant. Once again thank you for what you do. I'm pretty brand new to the truck world. What would you suggest? I'm not looking for anything crazy. Oh and for anyone curious I'm keeping it stock and would like to restore it to its original state. No lifts or crazy stuff here.
For dedicated winter tires I would go to the Wrangler Duratracs in your stock size. Second would be Hankook iPikes. I'm personally running Hankook RT03s since the Hankook's weren't big enough, but I had them sipped at a shop in town and then studded them. Here's my tires
we all appreciate that bud! this launch has been killer, wasn't as smooth as Ford thought it would be but were getting through it.
