Dremel, cutoff wheel and good bye nut.

 

nope, if you look at it the nut sits down inside a "dome" type thing and i couldn't reach even a dremel cutoff wheel down in there. so i had to cut straight down the threads on the shaft and hit the nut off with a chisel

 

Thats rough. 04 strikes again.

 

I had a similar issue (not 100% sure if the design is the same) when I did my mom's car. Damn shaft was spinning and I couldn't grab hold of it with anything. I ended up putting the thing back in the car, lowering the car down so the strut was compressed and there was weight on the spring, broke the nut loose, took it all back off the car and it came apart easy

 

I don't think that nut was coming off it told me to f**k myself
