Ugh. DDM. I've never had a set of their HIDs last more than a couple months. And the last 3 or 4 installs I've done on friends vehicles, at least one high beam has been non functional out of the box.
really? ive ordered like 6 sets from them and never had a single issue with any of them. did you order directly from their site or 3rd party? also did you use their wiring harnesses and stuff?
This is why i hate forums haha my Retrofit source hids that came with the projectors always crapped out on me so i got a ddm kit and it was fine. every now and then a projector wouldn't cut on so i had to fool with it. I don't think theres any "aftermarket" hid kit out there that won't mess up eventually.
It's the kind of luck I have. Everything breaks fresh out of the box. With the DDMs on 2 different vehicles there was one high beam that didn't work. On a third vehicle neither high beams worked. 2 or 3 years ago I tried DDM in my foglights as well and had a couple bulbs change color after a month or two each, then a ballast failed and I ditched them. In my dad's truck fit example, brand new only one high beam worked, and after two weeks a ballast failed. Always ordered direct from DDM and used their harnesses. I started recommending Morimotos to my friends and they had no issues, so I ordered them for both my parents vehicles and a ballast failed after a few days on the Limited. Luckily TRS made warranty work easy. As an extreme example of my luck...my new $20 grand BMW motorcycle was leaking oil before I had 500 miles on it. It's going up to the dealer in anchorage this week.
my 2010 hasn't had any issues yet *knock on wood* actually i'm a liar. i went offroading in the forest two weeks ago and had an annoying rattle coming from the front end. it ended up being the plastic dust cover on the strut. it was cracked and rattled against the coil so i cut it out. other dust boot is cracked as well. and out of boredom i photoshopped my truck with a 6".... it's gonna happen. just not any time soon.
