Getting close to the time to get all the manifold bolts replaced on my 09 f250. Ive been told to budget around $2500 for this project. That seems high to me, even for these little monsters. Anyone else care to share their own experience?
What motor do you have? Gasser? 5.4 is a b-itch because of access and broken manifold studs, I got a quote for $475 from my regular guy to do ONE side on my wife's 5.4 expedition. That was just labor since I bought the parts thinking I was going to do it. The motor mounts need to be unbolted and the motor needs to jacked up about 3 in, and the access is still terrible, took me 2 hours to get that spot and I gave up and put back together. $2500 seems a bit high, I would say 1200-1500 maybe for both sides depending on your motor, v 10 might be more. Also if you do have a 5.4 it would be a good idea to replace the manifolds of you're paying for labor already. The 5.4 manifolds have a tendency to warp and leak a bit. Yeah, the reason it's such a pain on the 150s and expeditions is the coil/ strut mount is right smack in the way. The 250 might be different. The 3v 5.4 manifold, studs, and gaskets are around $50 per side on Summitracing.com for oem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
