What are yalls options on adding a push button start between the switches and the outlet? or if I do it should I put it up here?

 

I would do it on the dash. It would get annoying otherwise

 

Yeah I'm still not sure if I'm even gonna do it tho, just thinking about it. I don't like the idea of anyone being able to come in my truck and flip a switch and press a button and it starts. If I can encorporat some sort of key pad that's like on the outside of the door as a security measure then I would do it. Like have it so I have to punch In a code and start the truck within a certain amount of time, say like within a minute after the code was put in. But idk that's still off in the future. I think the next thing once I finish what I'm doing now is gonna be the big 3 wiring upgrade and efans but that won't be until school gets out

 

Still gonna have to unlock the steering column right?

Push button start, like you said, to easy to get the vehicle
running and they'll just hack the column lock.

IMO a remote start would be a better option.
Put mine on right at a $ hundy.

 

I have already put in a remote start that's why I'm thinking I need the code lol and if I do it I would want to have it completely keyless so the ignition tumbler would be removed. I won't do it for a good while tho

You could always wire in a kill switch that runs to your ignition wire. Even with the key, if the switch isn't on, truck won't start.

I did the Squirtbottle mod and turned my cig lighter into a push button start, with a hidden switch. So you have to use the keys and then push the cig lighter in to start the truck if the switch is on. Switch off allows normal use of keys, for valets and stuff

 

I'll check out some more stuff on that remote start. I did get my off road lights put in today. No output pics ye cause it's raining here. So now all I have to do is wire my foot well lights and bed lights back up, put in the retrofited fogs and move my led bars to the rear.
