New guy to this forum with 2000 f150

Drew the adapters out last night on some 1/2 mdf. I'm gonna counter sink the Speakers 1/4 Inch into the adapter so they will only sit 1/4 Inch further out than the stock ones. Do yall think there will be enough room in there for that?

 

1/4 getting pretty close using MDF. Just worried about it splitting.
What about Proboard or something similar like high density plastic?

I'm not sure I honestly haven't looked into it that much. I just had the mdf laying around. I may not counter sink them that much due to splitting. I'll look into the plastic tho, that's a Good idea

 

Make the 6 1/2 recess trim rings out of shelf board.
Cheap to find and sturdy, still can recess it a fuzz.

You have access to a router?

 

I think I have some of that laying around too. If I have some I'll try it. And yeah we got a mini woos shop In our garage. I love wood working, just don't get to do it as much as I would like to.

 

I found a set of turn signals for 25 bucks and they came in today. I'm gonna repaint them but Im not sure what colors yet. behind the orange reflectors in the signals is hollow so I can take them off cause there would be a hole there, so should I leave them orange or should I paint over them black. Also I'm thinking I the bulb reflectors should be white and that Part of the housing on the outside edge that connects the bulb reflector to the housing should be white also. What do y'all think? I got them opened up and dechromed today

 

Leave them orange for DOT safety.
White the rest.
Some of those 1 watt eagle eye amber led would be super bright in there.

One of the guys on the other forum but some LED's behind the orange reflectors. It looks pretty good. I completely forgot about the dot stuff. Thanks

 

I couldn't get the orange reflectors off so I just left them. But all the painting is done

Unfortunately the housings warped when I was resealing them tho :/
