I have a 4r70w. I looked into a 4r100 swap but it looks like alot of work for what it's worth. I talked to Chris's Garrett over on the lightning Facebook page and he said 3200 for a 750 hp capable 4r100 or 2500 for a 550 hp capable 4r70w.

I just have to figure out what stall to run. I'm thinking somewhere in the 1800-2400 range. I will DD this truck for a long time so it can't be to crazy. I also don't want to lose much towing capability. After the transmission I plan on building the motor, going forged bottom end, 9.4:1 CR, ported heads and a cam that has a strong mid range and better top end than stock I know I will lose some bottom end, but I'm hoping the 4.56s and correct stall will make up for it. If I can put out 350 HP, 375 tq at the crank NA I'd be pretty happy. I'm gonna build it to handle boost but not worry about getting the stuff for that until I have it going good with the new trans and motor. Should just be a L swap with some different pulleys and a tune and not have to worry about anything else. I'm thinking around 12 pounds of boost should be plenty

That sounds like a pretty good plan. As as stall, I would call up one of the custom shops and see what they recommend. Definitely let them know that you want to tow, I would imagine it will be close to 2200, but that s a guess

    Thanks!

I also did the an expedition brake swap last week. My brakes still arnt that great tho. One of the valves in my ABS pump is bad so that's probably why. I have a new pump sitting in my garage I just need to put it on. Excuse my dirty frame and suspension, painting that is this summers project.

I took some pictures the other day while I was out turkey hunting. I actually took alot more pictures than that but all my pictures got deleted yesterday this is all I could save from the other forum [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Those brakes look a lot better! Do you not have any coil springs on your front?

Well I have good news and bad news. Good news is I changed my ABS module today and wow what a difference. My truck doesn't scare me when I'm braking now. Pedel doesn't go all the way to the floor either. That along with the expy swap feels great. I just have to take up the Pedel slop now. I am also planning on hydroboosting them soon. I'm impressed though, I about threw my dog threw the windshield the first time I stopped.

Bad news is I changed my oil today and only 1.5 quarts came out. that was probably the cause of my tick (which went away after I changed the oil). I only go 3k between oil changes too. My coolant is brown so I'm thinking I have a head gasket going. I'll just keep adding oil until It blows. Out I curiosity I pulled the pvc valve (motorcraft) and tube and there is pretty much no oil in there so it's not that, no external leaks either. Sucks cause I was gonna get my transmission built this summer to handle some power before I built the motor, but I guess it's gonna have to be the other way around. Hopefully the transmission will hold up to a mild NA build for a year or so. Definitely not gonna boost it until I get the transmission, the motor will be built to handle boost tho.
