Left side dash panel below steering column ,all fuses are good ,tested cranck position sensor ,light in dash goes out when cranking ,unpluged it stayes on when cranking so it isnt that . I would think a break in a wire but tested for that and that shows good

Your engine does or doesn't have the Variable Camshaft Timing
sensors in the middle of each head ?

I wish i hadnt thrown out the other engine harness i had from another 2001 i parted out or i would change the harness ,although i would have to pull the intake again to remove this harness . Somthing had to happen when i removed the harness to pull the heads

So solution, run a wire from the red with green trace at the master switch
of the steering column to the harness connector thru the fire wall
where the power is supposed to supply power for the coils.

If it fires using a battery hot wire as a test jumper to that coil power feed wire.

A good pair of wire strippers and you can skin the insulation back to expose
the copper without cutting the wire, then military splice in the hot test jumper wire.

Just wrap it a couple of times as this won't be a permanent connection.
Ideally you would fuse the other end before connecting it to the battery positive,
say 10 amp or 15 amps fuse.

If the circuit popped the wire from the initial test firing of the engine,
the coils may still have a short to ground issue.

If the fuse pops immediately this is what's wrong.

    @1935 Ford

You will then have to start testing each of the coils to figure out which
one is a dead short to ground with the test meter set to ohms.

As you stated it may be the harness is grounded out somewhere
and not a coil, so either way you will be looking for the short to
ground either in the wiring harness or the coils.
Like you said something may have happened to the harness during head
    gasket replacement.

Applying the hot wire test jumper to the coil hot feed wire with a
FUSE on it IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST !
