Have a 2003 navigator, the driver power running board will only drop down when rear door is open, the mirrors are also wanting to fold in on their own, can these issues be related? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Post by bobbycar: 2004 ultimate. driver side - only - would sometimes come out, sometimes not. i tried opening just the back door & it would come out - sometimes. passenger side worked find. the problem was the control module, replaced under the extended warranty. to date, owned truck 4 months, 15 days in dealership, estimated $7-8k repairs under extended lincoln warranty, $200 out of pocket. The mirrors wanting to fold on their own: An issue in the control module for the power fold option. Something is causing the signal to be sent to it to tell them to fold. Maybe contact spray like CRC electrical contact cleaner sold @ Walmart spayed into the backside of the master window switch power mirror fold button could solve this problem.
I’m thinking the running board may be the door latch because it also won’t turn off the stereo or turn on interior lights when I open the door, I’ll go to a junk yard and look for that control box though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
@dev199505 BCM Body Control Module I have an issue with mine in the F250. Constant power drain, it's in most of them 1999-03. No more available thru Ford and any pick-a-part are a roll of the dice to get maybe a good one. Wife told me on an out of town work trip the power locks just kept cycling up-down up-down till the battery died. Killed the actuators on all 4 doors.
Thanks for the info, there is a slight draw if I don’t start the car every couple days the battery does die , if I get a new BCM will I need to have my keys reprogrammed? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
@dev199505 No, BCM only controls the peripherals connected to it, ie lock actuators, lighting controls, the running board board. DDM, Drivers Door Module, located above and left of the fuse panel. It has the code on it for the keyless entry. Good luck, they built over a million F250 at the Kentucky truck plant.
Where is the BCM located I can’t find anything defenative in google some say it’s in the back pannel some say it’s in the dash Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
@dev199505 I see repair services for the bcm/fuseboxes as it looks to be an integrated unit. For the info I see some are in the passenger kick panel, same as the F150s in those years of production. Some early models had fuse panel driver's side left dash.
Fuse box is on passenger side, so that whole piece needs to come out? Sounds like a lot of work lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Replace driver's door latch and see what happens. I sAy it has the most open close cycles wear factor. Maybe you get one with better contacts or try to CRC contact spray clean the one in it now.
