Ok so i found one of these Diablo Sport Predator tuners on craigslist for 200 bucks. My buddy is tellin me that it is awesome and one other guy has told me the same thing. Ive been looking at getting a tuner/programmer but dont know much about them.

So what im asking is... Is this programmer thing going to be worth the 200 bucks i spend on it??

    Thanks.

Diablo is a decent tuner, I'm more a fan of sct myself. Edge is also a good tuner. The problem you run into with diablos is not as many tuners work with that software.

I had a bad experience with the diablo preditor. After about a year of having it on. My 04 threw a lean code (4.6L btw) so I plugged in the programmer and it would remove the tune and kept saying this device is locked to another vehicles. I called diablo and they said send it in. Asked them how long they said about two weeks. Then after that is got messed up in a hail storm lol! Here comes my 07 and bought a gryphon (edge programmer basically). Don't have any issues with it.

I've had a DS on my truck for over a year and haven't had any issues at all out of it. 2004 engines ran lean from the get go so unless you have a program to compensate strictly for them, you could throw a lean code. Even the installation of a CAI can cause them to run dangerously lean.

Plenty of people use their software... they are one of the top Mustang programmers out there. They've just never been a major player in the F150 market because most people want the gauge pod and keep their tuners plugged in. DS won't write you a tune and send it to you, they want you to take the truck to a dyno and have the programs done.. which is what gets the most out of a tune from any of them.

The tuner itself is nothing more than a vehicle to transfer a program. It doesn't really matter which one of them you get by brand if you are running the canned tunes.

I have an old 1998 F150 Lauriat and I was thinking if I can install a DT (Diablo Tuner) to enhance the engine performance. It seems like and old foe meeting a millennial. I also did not see any year model on how old the truck where we can install the DT. Any thoughts? This is what I was looking into: https://motoringcrunch.com/reviews/diablo-tuner/

I would call up SCT or 5 Star and see if they have any options for your truck. Those older models don't have
