Hi guys, got a weird problem with my Eddie Bauer stereo, in my 2000 expedition. It has the Mach stereo setup with a subwoofer in the rear passenger quarter panel. The sub stopped woofing about 3 weeks ago. The front and rear door speakers play fine, just the 8 inch factory sub went dead. I've traced it down to no power going to the subwoofer amp in the rear. I probed the plug going to the factory sub amp, and I get no power anywhere. Does anyone here if theirs a hidden fuse that powers just the sub? Theirs a 25 amp fuse for the main head unit, but all functions fine. I read theirs a 25 watt watt fuse that's taped somewhere along the positive battery cable. Can anyone here confirm that. As usual the repair shops won't help. F150 with mach stereo from 99-02 should be similar. Thanks for any help.

    @Moosee1955 Welcome Aboard.

Right, rear, corner of the engine bay.
Driver's side is a small, black, rectangular fuse holder.
    Open that.
It should be the # 3 or #5 Fuses there.

The only box with fuses is the large one in front of brake booster. I've dug around next to it, and theirs nothing. I even snapped open the plastic box that goes around battery red positive cable, nothing. Its definitely got to be a fuse. I'll probe all the fuses 10amp or larger in the main box under hood. The early 97-98s had a small box where you stated, but not the 2000./

    Sorry brother.

    Positive battery post.
Wrapped in the loom with tape.
25 amp. If fuse is good, connectors or amp bad.

Other problem may be at the connectors inside the trim panels.
Loose/corroded connectors. The rear washer hose ran parallel
    with the wiring.
These need cleaning, dielectric grease on the cleaned connectors
after fuse replacement or the amp itself has died.

    It just doesn't get easier.
These things were a PITA in the MUSTANGS to by-pass.
Never did one in an EXPY.

You will get much better BASS from a BOX if the Mach amp is dead.
Times are tight and funds hard.

You are in thick of it,
    The 280 Daly City ?

Where on the positive cable is the fuse? Must be hidden underneath towards starter. I've pulled both door sill plastic plates, every wire dry as a bone in there. Yes I live about 5 blocks from 280 in Daly City. You don't happen to live near do you? Moose.

I see your in the old Indian area of Georgia. My ex wife's family lived not too far away in Fulton county, Atlanta. Looks like I'm going to have to finish my right side front brake job. I'm so old and lazy these days, fat and 66 years old, I did just the left side cuz of grinding! I'd fit right in the deep south. Just need a size 56 pair of coveralls like junior sample used to wear on Hee Haw, now if I could just pump in our windy foggy weather!

Wrapped in the loom @ that positive battery cable post terminal, say 8 -10 inches away
    is what I'm being told.
Varies how far away from the post terminal, were it connects to the battery.

Gets into the low 20's many times here.
