    I realize this is a "truck" forum, but my van is quite literally a truck with a van body.. Now on to the post..

    So I'm having troubles with my '76 Econoline 250 with a 351. Engine struggles to start. Seems like it could be an ignition problem. Turning key, engine will crank and crank, but curiously, once key bounces back to run position, engine will pop. (sometimes) Van has what seems to be aftermarket ICM. Cleaned ICM connections. Replaced ignition switch, and started right up. Ignition switch plug and wires look good. Started up 5 or 6 times, no problem. Didn't need to give it any gas. Unplugged switch to reinstall back in to dash, and all of a sudden, no fire. New battery. New spark plugs, wires, and distributor cap/rotor. Sometimes if I let van sit for a few hours, it will start right up. Coil getting hot? Pickup in distributor? Will test spark from coil next. Choke looks like its working fine.

    Odd, isn't it? Any thoughts?

    Welcome
    @voyager97

    Those ICM had flaky issues, had many a Customer come through the doors of a nationally known
    Brick and Mortar Chain Parts Store to replace those. Not AZ.

    Appears your troubles started after the plug back into dash.
    Could be in the "female" side of the ICM plug.
    Try dielectric grease on those pin terminals first.
