I was thinkin of that cuz it would be really simple to do but it's too plain. I might weld in some metal plate with a design in it.

So I'm hobblin around workin on these friggin bars with a busted knee (search "Big Bear" for details) but I got some forward progress; only one more joint to weld on each bar.

I welded in the tube adapters and then blended the welds in for a smoother look.

Did a quick fit up so I know where to make the final welds.

Here is a shot of the axle mount

I'm sketching design ideas for the plate that will be welded in between the bars. If I get an idea down I'll start cutting the plate this weekend. I could still use some suggestions though...

Good eye! I knew one of you guys would see that. It is a little low. The axle mount isn't actually mounted. I kinda just slid it on the ends of the studs without taking the nuts off and propped it up with the jack stand. I need to chop a little bit more off on the other end too. It will sit a couple inches higher than shown in the pic. Where it's at now is actually almost even with the stock shock mount on the axle though. If it's still too low for my taste I'll have to do some moderate adjustments.
