I don't know anyone local who has a 6.4 for any input on MPG's.
I'm very interested in long term duration on the 6.7 (Scorpion) since Ford has the "PowerStroke" back in under their R&D, expect for the DEF (exhaust fluid) requirement. I have seen adds for deletes of the DEF.
Gotta love my 2000 7.3, great mileage, about 545 miles to a tank for a 7,000lbs truck with an add on programmer.
She has been dependable 'cept for the alternator or the small stuff under warranty, CPS, water pump, pinion seal and the fire starter master cylinder switch.
Ford said we (certified chassis up-fitter) couldn't run a "hot" wire unless it was fused within 8 inches, yet they had those recalls for a straight hot going to those switches.

Look in the "for sale" section of most places, I hardly ever see a '99 - '02 PowerStroke for sale, just my observation.
The neighbor bought a then new 6.0, bled oil all over the garage. Dealership said it was the turbo pedestal o-rings, they "attempted" to fix it three times but never did completely solve the problem. He traded it in on an '05 King Ranch F150.
That dealership had a IMO, a sorry service department. Won my lemon lawsuit against them on the other Ford we own, this dealership is no longer in operation.
