i replaced my WHOLE rear end when my seal and bearing and all went out. got one off craigslist with for 140 bucks with spinrgs shocks tires wheels and e brake cable still on it. was easier and faster to swap the whole rear end out and keep the old one for parts..
lol it took me 45 minutes start to finish to swap out rear ends.. id rather do that then drain and tear one apart and repair.
i know. thats what needed replace on mine. the bearing and seal took a shit you could actually pick the axle up and down and shake it inside the rear end.. hinting that the bearing had broke apart which is another reason i just replaced the whole thing. and cant beat it for the price i got.
Drain, pull caliper, pull center pin, remove retainer and axle, replace seal, and put er back together... I think that'd be better than u-bolts, brake lines, shocks, ABS if applicable, drive shaft, then remove it and replace and then hafta bleed yer brakes and worry if the shoes and drums and spring kits or pads n rotors are good... No biggie if ya can move the wheel up n down, but that is a good deal on the axle!
was simple quick and easy my way, plus got a ton of spare parts now if ever needed so i got no complaints
and and a chance that the axle was ****ed up and rounded off and grooved from the bearing that was shot the **** out. i needed the stock wheels anyway so i had 4 so i could sell the 35s i had on it and get new ones. also defected out the shocks that came on the new rear end for brand new ones ended up makin up for it in the end plus have spare everything now.
