Sorry on the long winded post in advance So, my 97 reg cab, was totaled after eating a ditch prior to me buying it. The body shop my dad works at bought it, fixed it and was gonna add it to the fleet of their other plow trucks... Till i bought it before they even got to use it. Now onto my question/concern. When they fixed my passenger side front hub/assembly, they got one from the junkyard im assuming. ANd when we did a brake job, well surprise! One side was the normal F150 setup, pass side was Expedition. (found this out after 3 trips to Murrys, and alot of searching thru their computer system.) Everything appears to bolt on perfectly. Now, are they both setup the same? Just different shaped part basically? Or should i try to return it back to the normal F150 setup as i have the time/money too? I have no problems stopping, or anything. Only that the Expy side is about 2x as much as the F150 side if i need to replace anything. And since im probably gonna end up on 16" rims before the end of summer, clearance is also a concern im having.
i guess it's up to you if you want to switch them out. to me as long as the truck stopped it wouldn't be a big deal.
hmm... that's interesting, it doesn't make sense to me that they would be different parts; however, because they are i would put that on my to do list to replace with a f150 match, but since you haven't had any trouble, i wouldn't worry about it- until it's necessary, like for smaller wheels.
if the expy stuff is larger, then maybe they increase stopping power. if that's the case then I would put an expy caliper on the drivers side.
they appeared to be the same size, just the expy rotor wasnt was deep as the f150, and caliper was setup different. i'll definitely get pics once warmer weather shows up. But Like i mentioned, stops fine, does pull slightly on the expy side, but nothing major. I'll just stick with it for now, as i should be able to clear 16" rims. And probably replace it later in the year if i feel its needed.
