The Plate is uses the same the bolts where the tranny cross memeber is located and due to the weight of the plate, there are two 5/8in holes on the frame that I used to add to bolts to secure the plate on the truck.
The next step was the Axle and to set up everything. This is after a complete rebuild of the axle from hub to gears. The first problem I ran into is on the 78 D44 off f150 the cast wedges from the radius arms are built into the axle tube, so option of removing these were out of the question for the 4 link brackets. The option I ended up choosing was to grind into the axle to make a slot for the brackets to sit in which meant not going to deep into the axle. I try to find pics of this procedure and will post them asap
Here is the close up of the 4 link brackets on the axle. They are in the cut into the wedges for they could be welded on a even surface. Also here is Tranny mount I made from removing the crossmember, it uses the same plan as the Crossmember had.
After the the 4 link brackets were set and welded onto the axle, I decided to build a truss for the axle and after some ideas. I came up with this.
